MOUNTAIN LAKE ENGAGEMENT

I met Brent + Emily through my boss at work. Usually, getting booked for your boss’s brother’s wedding can be intimidating, but the second I met this couple, all my worries evaporated. They agreed to meet over FaceTime while I was in the middle of the woods, and our vibes gelled immediately. We even discovered that Brent and I had gone to the same high school in Edmonton, and though our graduating years were separated into different decades, we shared a teacher!

I was officially booked for their June 2022 wedding! As the months went by, filled with holidays and milestones, just under two months before their big day, I received a politely worried email from the wedding couple- “I’m nervous about the wedding photos- I don’t want to look stiff or unnatural.” If I had a dollar for every time I heard that! I completely empathize with couples, or just anyone brave enough to get in front of a camera. It can be a daunting task! But my job is to help ease those worries, my job is to help you feel relaxed during the session, and deliver photos that will preserve precious memories of your engagement, your newborn baby, your graduation ceremony. So when Brent + Emily inquired about pushing up our engagement shoot so they could get a better feel for being in front of the camera, I knew exactly what they needed.

This was one of those sessions where you could tell right away, we were a good fit. Spending the entire shoot chatting like old friends, laughing and trying not to trip over the slushy snow of Lake Louise’s last dusting. We planned a few weeks ahead to “meet in the middle” in this rocky mountain location, though we may have done a bit more driving from the coast, it was well worth the road closures and rest stop camping. Shooting in Lake Louise was on my bucket list, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome.
